Unfortunately, I wasn’t at the airport last Sunday because I had a flight but I had the opportunity to be there and discover what the fuss was all about with the new NAIA Terminal 3.
No, they didn’t demolish the whole airport to create a new NAIA Terminal 3 and, no, they did not transfer the whole airport. But there is a new wing. We’ve been so curious about how it will turn out every time we fly because the construction really took a while.
NAIA Terminal 3 is the biggest of the four terminals and a lot of international flights are already transferred here. So naturally it has to start looking good and must cater to classy travelers. And that’s what the new wing is all about. I’m talking about the one floor right above the Departure area.
So what’s new NAIA Terminal 3?
Food Hall For The Classy And Chic
It’s not all finished yet but most of the shops and restaurants are already opened and it is so much better than before. Without the new wing there are only a few restaurants to choose from when you’re hungry, but now there’s more. I did not list down all of the new restaurants that were there but I can tell you two of them that got me excited.

My fave ramen shop, Ramen Nagi opened up a branch at the new NAIA Terminal 3. So it was awesome! Now I can eat great ramen noodles before I fly.
The other shop that I really liked is Mary Grace Cafe, mostly because of the ambiance and the really cute decorations and, secondly, because they have great pasta. I’m seriously getting myself hungry right now.
Here’s a bonus notice, though it’s not open yet, Marriott Manila Cafe has a spot on the new wing right beside the other new thing at Terminal 3.
What’s that? It’s…

So it’s finally open. That ramp that connects the New NAIA Terminal 3 to Resorts World. So now, travelers can go straight to their favorite high-class hotels without the need to call a cab just to cross the highway. They can now cross through the ramp.

Unfortunately, the exit of the ramp leads to an open space beside the open parking lot and into the heat of our tropical country. I know, if there’s one thing I’m really stagy about, it’s the heat. I hate to sweat when I’m not exercising so I think it would have been better if the exit was connected somewhere with air conditioning. But I guess that’s how it is for security purposes.
Somehow, I feel like the government is trying to turn NAIA Terminal 3 into a mall-ish airport like Changi in Singapore, but it will still be a long way. This new NAIA Terminal 3 is a start though.
So next time you have flights at this terminal, you’ll know what to expect. 🙂
